ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Tuesday afternoon, rescuers from Palm Beach County Ocean Rescue saved a 48-year-old swimmer caught in a rip current near Carlin Park — the man was safely brought to shore and later taken to the hospital in stable condition.  WPTV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • On Christmas Eve, several Florida stores including Publix (open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Target (open until midnight) and Costco (open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) operated on reduced hours, and most stores are closed today.  Palm Beach Daily News
  • Costco warehouses in Florida ran shortened hours on Christmas Eve with Executive members opening at 9 a.m. and others at 10 a.m., closing at 5 p.m. They are closed on Christmas Day and will resume regular hours Friday (Dec. 26).  Palm Beach Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • AAA offers its free Tow to Go service & sends a tow truck within a 10-mile radius for safe rides from 6 p.m. Christmas Eve until 6 a.m. Jan. 2 when you call 855-2-TOW-2-GO; Palm Beach County Deputies patrol roads on Christmas Eve & Christmas to deter impaired driving.  WPBF
  • Kessa Datilus cared for her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Zayah at home in unincorporated Palm Beach County after a year in hospital following her birth. The child receives routine care—including oxygen support and tube feeding—from a registered nurse, with her daily schedule shown on Oct. 23.  The Palm Beach Post
