Good morning, Jupiter. Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 7th of October.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • CROS Ministries collected leftover produce each Saturday from November through July, gathering 460,245 pounds of food to feed the hungry across Palm Beach County. More than 3,700 volunteers helped recover food equal to over 383,500 meals — a vital resource as federal budget cuts have increased community need.  The Palm Beach Post
  • Heather Hackett created the Local Relief app to give neighbors vital details on flooded roads, supply stores, and shelters after hurricanes like Ian and Irma. The free app—designed to ease anxiety and speed recovery—will help communities get organized as hurricane season continues.  CBS12 News
  • Jupiter HarbourFest is scheduled to take place at Harbourside from Oct. 18—19 and is organized by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Jupiter Medical Center and the Town of Jupiter. The festival will kick off on Friday night with a tasting featuring 10 chefs, 10 foods, and 10 cocktails and will continue with live music, food trucks, and kid-friendly activities each day.  CBS12 News
