- ➤ Commissioner Sara Baxter’s bid to cut the Homeless Coalition’s $150,000 county funding ended Sept. 30 after officials agreed the nonprofit helps local residents gain stable housing—she had questioned the group after it did not host its annual Mayors’ Ball at a local venue. The coalition, which raised $2.7 million last year, runs key programs like job placement and rent assistance and its new executive director will soon offer more details. The Palm Beach Post
