- ➤ Hurricane Humberto became a hurricane on Sept. 26 and is expected to strengthen to a Category 4 storm over the weekend—bringing dangerous surf, rip currents and large swells to Florida, though it will likely not hit directly. Palm Beach Daily News
- ➤ Hurricane Humberto reached hurricane strength on Sept. 26 and is forecast to rapidly intensify into a Category 4 storm over the next few days, while Invest 94L near the Bahamas is expected to develop into a tropical depression over the weekend — the Fujiwhara effect between the systems makes their impacts on Florida hard to predict.
