- ➤ Local leaders from Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties sent formal letters to state lawmakers in Tallahassee asking for continued support for Tri-Rail after FDOT cut funding from $60 million to $15 million, leaving the commuter rail funded only until July 2027—officials are urging five more years of state funding and planning a meeting in the next two weeks.
