- ➤ Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office reached an $18-million settlement with 17-year-old Timmie Lee Knox Jr. after he was paralyzed when a deputy shot him with a taser during a vehicle stop in 2021 — the settlement did not involve any admission of wrongdoing by PBSO or the deputy. 610 WIOD
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Three local school districts saw enrollment declines during a state-mandated 11-day count, with Palm Beach County losing 6,270 students and Indian River and Okeechobee counties losing 225 and 200 respectively. The declines are tied to rising living costs, demographic shifts and family empowerment scholarships, and each district adjusted staffing to address the changes. WPTV
