  • Officials from Loggerhead Marinelife Center visited ARC Florida on Thursday to advise locals on leaving sea turtles undisturbed during hurricane season — they urged residents to call local authorities if hatchlings appear distressed while noting that sea turtles typically lay multiple nests per season.  CBS12 News

  • The Loggerhead Triathlon returns for its 38th year today at Carlin Park with a race that has a ⅜-mile ocean swim, a 13-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run plus an Aqua Bike option for those who skip the run—first-timers get a special seminar and wave before joining the 450 competitors. Organizers also work with local groups to support beach cleanups and donate to Loggerhead Marinelife Center.  CBS12 News
