ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Jupiter police are partnering with Palm Beach County School Police to distribute helmets and teach e-bike safety at middle schools today as part of a back-to-school program—following reports of increased dangerous riding that has caused several serious injuries, Martin County Sheriff Budensiek explained that e-bikes without pedals or pedal assist and those going over 28 mph are illegal.  WPBF

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Tropical Storm Erin has been strengthening and will become a hurricane today and a major hurricane by Aug 17 with winds of 125 mph—forecasters say the storm is expected to remain offshore Jupiter. Officials advise residents to stay alert for dangerous surf and rip currents—especially along coastal areas.  Palm Beach Daily News
