- ➤ Jupiter police are partnering with Palm Beach County School Police to distribute helmets and teach e-bike safety at middle schools today as part of a back-to-school program—following reports of increased dangerous riding that has caused several serious injuries, Martin County Sheriff Budensiek explained that e-bikes without pedals or pedal assist and those going over 28 mph are illegal. - ➤ Tropical Storm Erin has been strengthening and will become a hurricane today and a major hurricane by Aug 17 with winds of 125 mph—forecasters say the storm is expected to remain offshore Jupiter.
