ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Family and community gathered today in Jupiter for a candlelight vigil honoring 16-year-old Jade North and her grandmother, Deidre North, who were killed in a crash over the weekend and are prompting calls for a mandatory four-way stop at the dangerous intersection—residents hope the change will reduce speeding in the area. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Florida Power & Light is asking the Public Service Commission to allow an $8.9 billion rate increase from 2026 to 2029, which may raise the average bill by $100-$200 per year. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission says property owners in Palm Beach County may shoot invasive green iguanas if they have permission and must kill them quickly by destroying the brain. FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ Jane Buffett, widow of singer Jimmy Buffett, and longtime financial adviser Richard Mozenter are battling in court over control of a $275 million trust, with filings in Palm Beach County and Los Angeles showing each side wants sole management.
