- ➤ The Palm Beach Police Department is urging residents to secure their vehicles and homes to prevent opportunistic crimes - they also advise calling 561-838-5454 to report any suspicious activity. WPBF
- ➤ Sterling Maloney appeared in court on Friday after being accused of firing into homes and buildings across Palm Beach County from Feb. 8 to July 11—investigators found a ledger in his car listing names and addresses from his high school—one resident said her Delray Beach home was hit. WPBF

- ➤ Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach nursed a sea turtle weighing 302 pounds named Pennywise back to health after a spring boat strike — the turtle was cared for at a special equine clinic in Wellington due to her large size for standard CT machines. She was released into the ocean and is healthy enough to nest next season while boaters are advised to stay at least one mile away from shore until nesting season ends on Oct 31. 610 WIOD

- ➤ Dr. Cory Harow, medical director at West Boca Medical Center, explained that heat illness can progress quickly — from heat rash and cramps to heat exhaustion and life-threatening heat stroke, as patients lose electrolytes and become weak. Local hospitals in the Palm Beaches area treated 218 patients over five days for heat symptoms and urged residents to hydrate, seek shade, and avoid the sun during peak hours — measures that can help prevent severe illness.
