  • Deputy James Mackey of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has helped more than 200 homeless people through his Homeless Intervention Project, which began about six years ago, and he says his work is guided by the belief that they are us — we are them. He works closely with social service agencies to further support those in need.  WPBF

CRIME NEWS

  • A woman was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound at Lucerne Green Condominiums early Tuesday morning and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the death did not appear to be a suicide — officers are investigating the incident.  WPTV

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Palm Beach County’s Housing and Economic Department is offering up to $100,000 in forgivable funds to help eligible first time homebuyers cover costs like construction, down payment, and closing fees, with the program limited to the first 100 qualified applicants based on income and household size. A virtual pre-application orientation is scheduled for Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. and a final session will be held on July 22 at noon before the application portal opens next Wednesday at noon.  CBS12 News
