  • AAA reported that south Florida has some of the highest gas prices in the state, with Palm Beach County averaging $3.25 per gallon as of Monday and Naples at $3.17. Tensions in the Middle East—where Iran has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz—may push prices higher.  WPBF

HEALTH NEWS

  • Justin Schoen, a 17-year-old from Park Vista Community High, has launched the 'Cap My Crown' fundraiser to raise $27,000 so low-income chemo patients can get scalp cooling treatments that help them keep their hair. His effort was inspired by his mother's battle with breast cancer at the Lynn Cancer Institute — every $1,000 raised directly supports this treatment.  CBS12 News
  • In June, Men’s Health Month, Dr. Daniel Hellerstein from HCA Florida JFK North Hospital raised awareness on prostate conditions and kidney stones as he told WPBF 25 that men are more likely than women to develop these issues — a men’s health panel scheduled for next week will focus on starting open conversations and proactive care — providing local men valuable insights.  WPBF
