Good morning, Jupiter.

Early this morning in Jupiter, hundreds of volunteers teamed up with Homes For Our Troops to help veteran Sgt. Chris Short by landscaping his new yard.

Sgt. Short, injured in Afghanistan in 2005, said he felt honored by the community support—an event that brought neighbors together.

On December 21, 2024, deputies arrested 54-year-old Jesus Roa after cell phone records, DNA evidence, and vehicle damage — connected him to the Boynton Beach hit-and-run that killed 60-year-old Robert Elsmore as he pushed an empty wheelchair near Old Congress Road.

ChildNet held its annual graduation event at Palm Beach State College to honor foster youth who earned diplomas and degrees despite many challenges—graduates expressed hope and shared plans to pursue further studies in health science and nursing.

The ceremony highlighted support from community programs that helped the students overcome obstacles on their way to success.

A 120 acre site preserving Florida scrub, maritime hammock — and mangrove swamp lies adjacent to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse.
