Good morning, Jupiter. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 22nd of May.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Marino, a 7-year-old, 65-pound dog who has stayed at the shelter for over 136 days, was named The Palm Beach Post’s Pet of the Week and is available for adoption after being found wandering stray in Greenacres in early January. He is good with other dogs, housebroken, and crate trained (when adopted he comes with a crate, food, and a bed).  The Palm Beach Post
  • Big Dog Ranch Rescue said that Rambit is a 5-year-old hound/mixed-breed dog found as a stray in 2022 with duct tape around his mouth that left a round scar — yet he still trusts humans and now is ready for adoption.  WPBF

ECONOMY NEWS

  • On May 19, the U.S. Supreme Court ended Temporary Protected Status for 350,000 Venezuelans, many of whom work in construction and landscaping in Florida. Local attorneys and political leaders said the ruling will reduce both workers and consumers and could hurt the state's economy—businesses may face worker shortages and lower spending.  The Palm Beach Post
