Surfers for Autism will host free surf lessons this weekend at Carlin Park on Juno Beach for children and adults with autism—the event begins with an 8:30 a.m. briefing on May 17th.

Local athlete Damian Richter, a former program participant, will guide new surfers during the festival.

On May 15, the National Hurricane Center will resume issuing daily tropical outlooks—highlighting areas with potential for tropical development over the next two to seven days—to help residents prepare for hurricane season beginning June 1.

Florida leaders are gathering in Palm Beach County for the 39th Governor’s Hurricane Conference to ready the state for hurricane season, which starts in 19 days.

Many sessions have been cancelled due to staffing issues—experts from the National Weather Service may still drop by to offer safety tips and ways to help youth handle storm stress.

Dr. Marshall Stone retired from Jupiter Medical Center after 33 years and now leads Fresh Rx, a nonprofit that provides food packages and education on healthy eating—made with produce from local farmers.

The program lasts 16 weeks—serving over 800 families and currently has a waitlist for new participants.
