Four Honduran nationals have been indicted for running an off-the-books payroll scheme for undocumented construction workers — they allegedly used shell companies to cash about $89M in checks, which helped avoid IRS taxes and defrauded workers’ compensation insurers.

Lanise Jean and her daughter Denallie Geneya from Greenacres graduated from Palm Beach State College on May 7—Lanise earned her associate's degree in nursing while Denallie earned her Associate of Arts degree as she finished high school.

Denallie said she will continue her education and hopes to become a pediatrician.
