  • Palm Beach County Schools are rolling out a new system that links digital maps of school buildings with 911 calls to help responders find the right room quickly (marking key safety tools). The district is the first in Florida to use this tech and the maps show detailed layouts (like AEDs, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits) to speed up help during emergencies.  WPBF

  • WPBF 25 First Warning Weather team will host a free hurricane preparedness event on May 10—designed to equip local residents with expert tips and guidance before the season begins.  WPBF

HEALTH NEWS

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert on May 1 for potato chips containing pork cracklings imported from Colombia — sold to Florida retailers — and warned consumers not to eat them.  Palm Beach Daily News
