ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • County Commissioner Marci Woodward said the engineering team met with the victims' families and will review options—such as a new traffic signal or closing the intersection—to improve safety at South Military Trail after a speeding car killed four people on April 21.  WPTV

CRIME NEWS

  • The ADL reported Palm Beach County led Florida with 51 antisemitic incidents in 2024—39% fewer cases than last year—while bomb threats against Jewish places stayed near prior levels, showing that hate acts remain a serious concern.  The Palm Beach Post
  • The FBI warned that South Florida residents have been targeted by scammers posing as federal agents — using spoofed caller IDs to urge victims to send money, and advised residents to remain cautious when answering unknown calls.  CBS12 News

  • Edwin Ferguson cast the only vote to keep the district’s DEI programs when the Palm Beach County School Board eliminated them Wednesday night—he said cutting the programs weakens public education and removes key resources from a historically marginalized community while the board prepares to review if the changes will become permanent.  WPBF
