COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A local Navy veteran will bike across America to raise money for the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, which aids first responders and veterans since 9/11. He will begin his journey in California on July 14 with planned stops including the Pentagon and the 9/11 Memorial.  WPBF

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket will launch AST SpaceMobile’s BlueBird 7 satellite today from Cape Canaveral between 6:45 and 8:45 a.m. ET and may be visible across Florida and into Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama if weather permits.  Palm Beach Daily News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Frances Fisher, a longtime Palm Beach resident and arts advocate, has been appointed to the Florida Council on Arts and Culture effective Feb. 20 to bring Palm Beach County a renewed voice in state arts funding. Her first meeting is set for June 18 (her term runs through the end of 2027).  Palm Beach Daily News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Florida decreased slightly after crude costs dropped when Iran reopened the Strait of Hormuz, though pump prices may take time to follow. FAU professor Steven Carnovale explained that factors such as supply, demand & taxes will affect when consumers see lower prices.  WPBF

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • FDOT and local law enforcement held a safety event Saturday at Family Park during Indiantown's first farmers market and discussed plans to widen SR 710 from two to four lanes to reduce crash severity. Construction is expected to begin mid-2029, officials said — driver safety and enforcement remain a top priority.  CBS12 News
