The county will work on a Resilience Action Plan and hold public input sessions on April 23 at Belle Glade Library Meeting Room, April 29 at Pahokee Marina, and April 30 at Palm Beach County Main Library (from 6 to 7:30 p.m.) to gather community feedback. - ➤ Florida officials say homeowners can take steps now to reduce wildfire risks during the dry season; up to 80% of homes lost to wildfires might have been saved if simple fire-prevention measures had been followed. - ➤ High school baseball playoffs will use a best-of-three series in the regional quarterfinals, semifinals and finals starting Monday, April 21 as the FHSAA Board voted 10-3 in September 2024 to bring back a longer format seen in 2008-2009—giving teams a greater chance to rely on deeper pitching staffs.
