  • Consumer Reports compared grocery prices at 35 retailers and found six national chains cost less than Walmart. Florida shoppers see higher prices at Publix, which is 20.3% above Walmart, while Target, Save A Lot, and Piggly Wiggly also rank as pricier.  Palm Beach Daily News

  • The Crawfish Festival kicks off today at Abacoa, featuring seafood, live music and family activities; performances (starting at 4:00 p.m.) will benefit two local children’s charities.  WPBF

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A study by Florida Atlantic University tracked beach nourishment projects from 2020 to 2021 and found that disturbed sediment lowers water clarity for migrating blacktip sharks, which may raise negative encounters with beachgoers + experts advise reviewing project timing to help reduce risks during spring migration.  WPBF

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Palm Beach County Board postponed its vote on AI data center Project Tango from April 23 and set the zoning hearing for Wednesday, July 15 at 9:30 a.m. County Mayor Sara Baxter said the delay will allow extra time for developers to complete impact studies and consider public input.  WPTV
  • Florida taxpayers in Jupiter should use the IRS 'Where's My Refund?' tool to check for delays that are usually due to minor errors — incorrect deposit info, a missing signature, or a miskeyed number. The tool updates daily and phone help is advised only if prompted.  Palm Beach Daily News
