Bradley Amick, 51, allegedly struck a man with a hatchet at a BurgerFi on Indiantown Road on Tuesday at 11:10 p.m., and then dialed 911 on himself — police said the victim was found unconscious with heavy bleeding.

Kate Faroni from Loxahatchee was arrested this morning along with her husband on charges of animal neglect after investigators found evidence that neglect caused the deaths of at least two dogs—she was held on a $12,000 bond.

On Wednesday, the Florida Senate passed SB 1198 which defines gift card fraud and sets penalties ranging from fines of $1,000 and up to a year in jail for a misdemeanor to fines of $5,000 and up to five years in prison for a felony (penalties depend on the illicit gain amount).

If approved by both chambers and signed by Governor Ron DeSantis, the law will take effect Oct. 1.
