  • Florida’s Space Coast has two rocket launches this week — SpaceX’s NG-24 mission launches Wednesday, April 8 at 8:49 a.m. from Launch Complex 40, and Blue Origin’s New Glenn-3 is expected Friday from Launch Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.  Palm Beach Daily News
  • A South Florida team built in Palm Beach County powered Artemis II by providing a locally built RL10 engine that guided the spacecraft into high Earth orbit. L3Harris said the team will support future Artemis flights — including Artemis III.  WPBF

  • On Wednesday, a Maine father from North Yarmouth drowned in a rip current at Juno Beach while rescuing his 12 year old son and 9 year old daughter, who survived, and a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the family.  CBS12 News

  • Palm Beach County is reviewing major tourism projects including a state-of-the-art sports complex, an expanded convention center, and an immersive digital venue to boost local tourism, with proposals due in June — officials say they aim to attract international sporting events.  WPTV

  • The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reminds residents that legal exclusion devices must be installed by April 15 to allow bats to exit safely before maternity season begins on April 16 and lasts until August 14 — a measure that protects both bats and people.  CBS12 News

  • Teachers, parents and community leaders gathered Monday near Saddle View Elementary to oppose a planned 200-acre AI data center called Project Tango due to environmental risks and constant noise. County commissioners will discuss the proposal on April 23.  WPBF
