  • WPBF 25 News is partnering with local shelters to host a St. Patrick’s Day pet adoption special from Friday the 13th through Tuesday the 17th, featuring Quesadilla (an 8-year-old mix from Okeechobee) with a waived fee. The event hopes to help more pets find forever homes.  WPBF
  • Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build 2026 is returning with 400 local volunteers (wearing pink and green) to help homeowners with essential building work and community learning opportunities. The event will offer hands-on construction experience and local empowerment.  WPBF

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Florida lawmakers passed a bill letting retailers round cash payments to the nearest nickel (this change is optional for stores) since the penny is no longer produced; the bill now goes to Gov. DeSantis and applies only to cash transactions.  Palm Beach Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Florida Health Department tightened ADAP eligibility because of a $120 million shortfall, affecting over 12,000 HIV patients statewide & 1,700 in Palm Beach County, while Palm Beach County approved $7.6 million in Ryan White funds and a lawmaker filed an amendment to expand access until June.  WPTV
