Good morning, Jupiter.

Multiple events take place this weekend on the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County, including a free art event in Lake Worth, WestFest in Royal Palm Beach with live music & carnival rides, TurtleFest at Loggerhead Park in Juno Beach, and the Jupiter Seafood Festival at Carlin Park.

Officials report that nearly four months without rain and recent frost kill from cold fronts have raised wildfire risks in the region, leading to burn bans in 32 counties including Palm Beach and Martin (Florida Forest Service advises residents to remove debris and notify neighbors of open-air fires).

Florida is enduring its worst drought since 2001, with over 18 million residents affected as water restrictions tighten and Lake Okeechobee falls to its lowest levels (officials plan extra measures if conditions worsen) while forecasts predict dry weather into spring.

CDC data shows nearly 1,000 measles cases nationwide, including Florida.

Most cases occur in unvaccinated people — local health officials urge families in Jupiter to ensure children receive both MMR doses for full protection.
