- ➤ Loggerhead Marinelife Center recorded the earliest leatherback turtle nest along a Palm Beach County beach yesterday, before sea turtle nesting season starts on Mar. 1. - ➤ After voting on Feb. 11 in West Palm Beach, the House replaced the northern mockingbird with the pink flamingo as state bird and named the Florida scrub-jay as state songbird. The bill now heads to the Senate — if approved by Governor Ron DeSantis, it takes effect on July 1. CBS12 News
