- ➤ Big Dog Ranch Rescue has opened the $4 million Patriot Pet Lodge today in Jupiter, offering free dog boarding (for veterans and deployed soldiers). The Palm Beach Post
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Short-spined thrips, tiny insects damaging ornamental and vegetable plants, have been found in Florida, including local gardens. Experts advise gardeners to inspect for silver scars and curled leaves and to use natural predators or horticultural oil (UF/IFAS recommends) to manage the pest. Palm Beach Daily News

- ➤ Jupiter Town Council approved a settlement for Suni Sands that sets aside over half of the 10-acre site, with the town paying $10.5 million for preservation while developer (Charles Modica) retains part for future development.
