About this event

OOC Sports Academy’s Thanksgiving Break Basketball Camp is a 3-day development experience for boys ages 8–13 , designed to keep athletes active, learning, competing, and improving while school is out.

Our camp is built around OOC’s 4-Quarter Development System , which helps athletes develop more than just individual basketball skills. Throughout camp, players will work on athletic development, basketball fundamentals, team concepts, basketball IQ, communication, and live game application.

Athletes will be divided into two groups:

Ages 8–10

Ages 11–13

Each group is limited to 12 athletes , allowing our coaches to provide more focused instruction and maximize each player’s repetitions.

Throughout the day, the two groups will rotate between our basketball court and classroom . While one group is training on the court, the other group will participate in structured basketball-related classroom activities before the groups switch.

Classroom activities may include film study, basketball IQ, game situations, team building, leadership and communication exercises, goal setting, basketball trivia, challenges, and other fun basketball-related activities.

Days 1 & 2 — Complete Player Development

During the first two days, athletes will complete all four quarters of OOC development:

• Quarter 1 — Strength & Conditioning

Athletic movement, speed, agility, balance, coordination, strength, and conditioning.

• Quarter 2 — Skill Development

Ball handling, footwork, passing, shooting, finishing, and offensive fundamentals.

• Quarter 3 — Team Concepts

Spacing, cutting, communication, passing, transition play, defense, and learning how to play effectively within a team.

• Quarter 4 — Live Play & Scrimmage

Athletes apply what they learned through competitive drills, small-sided games, situational basketball, and live play.

Day 3 — Competition & Live Play Day

The final day of camp shifts the focus toward competition and game application .

Athletes will begin with Quarter 1 — Strength & Conditioning , then spend Quarters 2, 3, and 4 focused primarily on live basketball .

Players will compete through small-sided games, situational basketball, team competition, and live scrimmages while applying the skills and concepts they worked on during the first two days.

Classroom rotations on Day 3 will support the competition through game preparation, film, basketball IQ, strategy, communication, team challenges, and game review.
